[00:00:21] Hey ho Dear ones. We have an amazing episode for you today where I speak to Christy Whitman about how to find your flow in business by mastering your energy. And she’s just released a book called The Flow Factor and she talks us through, um, the. Various ways in which we can really find alignment throughout our day, and not just once in the morning and once at night before you go to bed, but being in that energetic resonance, the resonance that you want to be in and want to be experiencing throughout your day, and using that frequency to draw in more and more of the things you want to experience in your life and business.

[00:01:05] And, um, you are gonna hear me, I get a little bit fixated on this back of the head thing that she teaches, and I, I wanna explain that before we even go into the interview because you guys know me, you know that I am myself, a person who teaches on flow and, um, I feel like I have a good idea of how to be in alignment in my energy throughout my day.

[00:01:30] So, however, that said, I do have definition in my human design, in my head and Ajna, and that means that when I’m in low expression, I can be a head case. Does anybody else relate to that? And certainly. You can get up into your head if you have openness there too. But if you have definition up there, it just means that you can kind of consistently find yourself all up in your head, ruminating over analyzing, going into analysis paralysis.

[00:02:05] And that’s a real conundrum in my particular human design chart, because I also have an extremely, hmm. Intuitive energy where I’m a channel and I’m a direct connection to source and I’m meant to be in the body and be embodying and channeling source, packaging up the messages from source and presenting it to you in a way that you can digest and integrate.

[00:02:31] And I definitely do that and I love to do that and really find my flow and my body. But there is a push-pull energy there. It’s one of the built-in conundrums of MyChart, and we all have built-in conundrums where we have push-pull energy going on. Two opposing things about our energy are both true, but they oppose one another.

[00:02:57] And when you really lean into your conundrums. Just find I, this is a hard thing for me to put into words. It’s ineffable, which means it’s one of those things that just sort of transcends words. It’s more like a feeling. You kind of can go to the edge of your conundrum. So if you take my conundrum of being both a great thinker and a great intuitive at the same time, so in one way I’m not thinking, I’m just using my intuition, and, but yet in the other way, I’m really using my brain to like come up with new ideas and brainstorm.

[00:03:33] When I lean into that, what I realize about myself is I’m not just a channel. When have you ever heard me just channel something from Source and say to you, have fun with that. And I think there is a time and a place where people should, if you are someone who is a channel and you wanna channel source, sometimes there is a time and a place where it is just.

[00:03:59] You know, the, the, the thing to do is just channel source and say to your audience, here it is. You take and run with it and see what it means for you. But I feel like when I am in highest expression of my own energy, I’m channeling source. I’m crunching what source has given me in my brain. I am testing it out.

[00:04:25] I’m. Uh, engaging in a lived experience of this channel from source. And then after I’ve chewed and crunched and experienced and skinned up a knee and maybe put some bandaid on it and maybe put a bandaid on it and heal, then I share it with you. And I think that is the beauty, the magic of my particular conundrum.

[00:04:51] And what I love about my talk with Christy is this, she said a lot of amazing things and you are gonna pick out something that is more useful and meaningful for you, or lots of things that’s probably gonna land strongly for you. But I picked this thing out for me where she teaches a little trick to help you release.

[00:05:15] All the thoughts that get jumbled up in your brain when you are spinning, when you are up in your head, because I think that’s one of the number one things. That, and having an energy block are the number one things, and those two things are related that gets us out of flow in our average day. So. I’m sure Christy was like, I, I keep going back to the, the back of the head thing during the interview with Christy, and I’m sure she was like, okay, Allison, we’ll keep talking about it, but I have other things to share, but.

[00:05:48] I’m still talking about it, so obviously, you know, it, it landed for me and it’s something that since this interview I’ve been doing when I find my head spinning, but let me tell you a word about Christy before we go to the interview. [00:06:48] Welcome, Christy to Soul Guide Radio. Thank you Allison for having me. Hi everyone. I’m so excited to have this conversation. I am too. So you have, you know, you have written some very successful books. Um, I think that’s so cool. You know, one of my, my clients is a book publisher, so I’m always working with her on messaging for her audience.

[00:07:11] Like, why would you wanna publish a book? Mm-hmm. Um, I don’t know. I feel called to ask you that question, like, um. How was your book, your book writing journey? Where are you? Do you consider yourself a writer or did you consider yourself someone who wrote books to showcase your expertise or somewhere in the middle?

[00:07:29] No, I’m definitely a writer. Um, so like the information I don’t ever set out to go today, I am gonna write a book, you know, or I have, I think I have a book in me that I wanna say, you know, some, some things, whatever. It’s like I literally get an assignment. It’s like spirit comes through with the download and because, um, the flow Factor is my latest book, it’s my seventh book.

[00:07:51] It’s the same, it’s been the same process for all of my books where it’s like. You know, I get this nudge, I get this like, kind of, um, sense that something big is coming, coming and I need to write it down. I need to capture it. So I grab my pen, my journal, you know, that kind of thing. And then I start writing and, or I’ll get nuggets in the middle of the night or, you know, something will start to, and then the momentum starts growing and growing.

[00:08:16] And I’ll, I’ll be just downloading for hours at a time. And it’s usually through writing. It’s not usually through going to my computer and, you know, doing that sort of thing. It’s, it usually starts out with free handwriting and channeling and scribing in that way. And then, um, I’ll take what I write in my handwriting and then bring it over to a document, you know, and then that fills in even more and more information will come through.

[00:08:43] So it’s all very much guided, um, all the work that I do through writing and coaching and healing and, and all that. Beautiful. I always tell my clients, you know, buffalo steps is my word for homework because a buffalo is like this giant, it’s my speared animal, first of all, north American bison. And, you know, I grew up in the plains of, of the United States.

[00:09:05] And, um, they’re these gigantic vegetarians. They only take a step. They are very mindful about the steps they take to preserve their energy and make sure they’re getting to shade or to water or to a good scratching post or whatever. And so I always assign my buffalo steps to my clients, um, and tell them to hand write your answers.

[00:09:26] Mm-hmm. For the very reason I feel like it’s such a, a, a connection into, uh, that intuitive side of our brain and connecting to higher self and really, um. Getting that divine flow flowing through you, which is what we’re gonna be talking about today. Yes. So I love, I love the title of your latest book, the Flow Factor.

[00:09:47] That’s really beautiful. Thank you. So can you tell us how you describe flow? Yeah. Flow is, you know, flow is who we are, flow is, flow feels good. Flow is that magical, you know, co-creative partner that we have of all good things that we have access to at any given moment. So I know people have described flow as being in like, you know, you’re in the zone or you’re in this state where time, you know, just.

[00:10:13] Flies by and you, you know, yes, it’s all of that, but it’s so much more too because flow is really who we are. It’s, it’s, it’s what we’re connected to and, and why it’s called the flow factor is because we are also the factor, like we the human, if we are. In tune with and focusing on the flow, the good feelings, the high vibrations, right?

[00:10:37] What we do want, then we are in alignment with it. And then we too also feel good, but if we are using our safe, free will and choice, right? Or not, if we’re in survival mode, if we’re in that, you know, primitive part of our brain that’s in fight, fight, fight, flight, freeze, um, we’re not using. Flow to our advantage.

[00:10:59] ’cause the flow is always there, it’s always consistent. It’s always available for us, but are we in it? Are we out of it? And we’re the factor that determines if we are or not. Amazing. Yeah. So one, one of the things that I. Teach in my work is how people connect to and co-create with the spiritual realm at higher and higher levels.

[00:11:20] And I teach about our five spiritual gifts that we bring forth. And we are in flow and express flow in an infinite number of ways, but they fall into five key categories, typically. Um, intuition, healing, manifestation, teaching and leadership. So like communicating with the divine, healing with the divine, tapping into higher potential, co-creating with the divine, and just being.

[00:11:42] The divine. And so, um, and so I’m just trying to think like, I love how you are defining flow. Um, and I talk about it a lot too. Uh. But how do you feel like, and so I’m really relating to everything you’re saying and I’m trying to fit in like how I talk about, like, I’m trying to marry, marry how we, we both approach this topic.

[00:12:09] So I would love for you to describe like how you approach it, how you feel, you approach it a little bit differently, that might bring it a to life in ways that snap into people’s, uh, understanding a little bit sharper. Well, I think the first thing is that you have to know that flow is there. So the flow of what?

[00:12:26] Flow of the money that you want, flow of the relationship, the love, the support, the wellbeing, you know, whatever it, the freedom, the security, the safety, you know, whatever it is that we are wanting and whatever it is that we are really on an emotional, energetic level meeting, that flow is already available for us.

[00:12:46] It’s already before we as a human even recognize that, you know. We want something before you realize that you want something, that flow already is there and exists and it’s has the pure potential to fulfill it. And so that’s the understanding is that first that all that I need and want ever in this lifetime is already available and accessible to me.

[00:13:07] That’s a really different way of living. Versus some, someone thinking that I’m not enough or I don’t have enough, or I don’t have what it takes, or I’m totally confused. I don’t know what to do. You know, because many humans, many of us are. Stuck in that primitive part of the brain and we’re, whether we know it or not, we are in this place of stress, right?

[00:13:34] We’re in this place of constriction because our brains naturally, our minds are naturally looking for what’s dangerous, what’s not safe, how to protect us, how to keep us safe. Even if we have, uh, I had a client the other day that said, oh my God, I had this amazing, great idea and it just lit me up and I. I felt all alive.

[00:13:55] And then I heard my brain say, well, you can’t do that. You don’t know how to do that because the brain is trying to keep us safe. If she, you know, set, if she works on this great idea and puts herself out there, you know, the part of her that is limited in who she is right now is trying to keep her safe because what if she.

[00:14:14] Does it and get successful, then, you know, her mind thinks that, well, success won’t be safe. She won’t be safe if she has success or she makes another level of money. Or, or, or, right. So. The primitive part of our brain, it’s actually the lower part of our, our brain. And there’s a release valve at the right where our head and our neck connect.

[00:14:37] And when you allow yourself to just imagine, it’s like a chakra, but it’s actually a release valve. If you imagine, um, that you’re. Turning it on, or like you’re opening it up, that energy and all of that tightness and stuckness of energy can release out the back of the head and neck. I had a woman the other day, I was doing podcasts, and she goes, I was actually looking for the lever back there.

[00:14:59] So there’s no real lever. It’s, it’s imaginary. So, um, but it, you know, imagine like you’re turning on a bath, you’re opening up that part of the head and neck because that part is really where. We get stuck in either if we’re resisting, we’re fighting with someone not, and I don’t mean just like physically, we could be in our heads, you know, resisting and pushing against an idea.

[00:15:23] It could be, um, resisting and pushing, pushing against an idea to succeed like my client, or to get out there to be visible or, you know, whatever the thing is. And as you just let that energy relax out the back of your head and neck, it literally starts to drain that out because. What happens is when this part of the brain is activated.

[00:15:46] The parts of the brain that are not activated are the third eye, our intuition. Our, you know, as counsel, who I channel calls the fake portal as our third eye, you know, um, our seven chakras. So these two main higher centers that connect us, you know, and, and can bring energy through the pineal gland and through the prefrontal cortex, and are responsible for imagination and, you know, kind of creator consciousness.

[00:16:11] None of that’s getting activated when. The primitive part of the brain when that fight flight freeze, when that stress response is happening. We have no activation in the front part, but as you let that go. You let the energy drain. Now it gives movement and awareness to what we can then look forward to.

[00:16:31] What we can actually with the, you know, front part of our brain, the prefrontal cortex looks for is like, what do I desire? What do I wanna create? What do I, what’s my goal? What’s my, you know, what does my future look like? And if you are. In tune with deliberately in, in, you know, with intention, creating those images and pictures in your mind.

[00:16:54] You know, now you’re in creator mode Instead of that, you know, survival mode. Yeah. So how do we get more into that creator mode, um, like in our business? So like what are some practical ways as we, um, you know, get started for the day to tap into that flow and invite more and more of that flow into business?

[00:17:17] Well, you know, it’s thinking that you and your soul are in this together. So I’d like to think as my, my soul, your soul is. It can never be disconnected from us. We, as a human can turn our back and our attention from it, but our soul’s always with us. So I like to think of my soul as already like my, you know, my business partners, my co-creator in business, right?

[00:17:40] And or in any aspect of my life. So. Think about your soul is five feet above you, five feet below you, five feet in front of you, all the way around you, five feet behind you, and that your soul is the source, if you will, of flow. So whatever you’re wanting to feel like, if you know that, okay, today I am waking up and I’ve got a couple of really great.

[00:18:04] Meetings or interviews or client, you know, meetings or whatever it may be, and you’re like, you ask yourself, okay, what is it that I want? How do I want this, not only this day to go, but those opportunities, you know, what is it that I’m wanting to feel at the end of the day? And most of the time it’s gonna be success.

[00:18:27] You know, I wanna feel success. Like, that was a successful meeting. Like, I got the client, you know, the money got in the bank, the, the contract that I’ve signed, you know, whatever, whatever the deal is. That you are wanting to accomplish, whatever the result is, that you’re wanting to accomplish that time and that day for you, and know that everything is energy.

[00:18:48] And that includes, even in business. I mean, I, I do a light business mentoring with a group of of people, because you can take all the action in the world, but if you’re not aligned energetically, you’re gonna be working really hard. So the first thing to do is when you’re. Just even waking up in the morning, think about your whole entire day, not just what your career, your business, you know, and ask yourself, what is it that I’m wanting this day to represent?

[00:19:15] What do I wanna feel in this day? You, you get to choose the energy. I like to think of it as like, you know, you’ve got a piano, right? And the piano has potential to play any song available, right. And even make up new ones, right? Because it has keys, it has tones, it has notes, and. We are the piano player, so we choose the notes.

[00:19:40] We are the one that chooses. Are we gonna go play, you know, Santa Claus is coming to town, or are we gonna go play Van Halen or Bach? Or what are we choosing that we are gonna play? So it’s kind of like that with energy. It’s like when you wake up in the morning and realize that you’re alive, you’re awake, you get a whole nother day in front of you.

[00:19:58] It’s like, what energy do I choose to be in? What note? What key am I playing today? And the start of that and just feeling your way into it. So I like to think of as like three questions that lead to the essence of what we want. First one is, what do I want? We’re, when we’re focused on what we want, we’re not focused on what we don’t want, right?

[00:20:23] So when we’re focused on what we don’t want, we’re in that. Constriction. We’re in lack, we don’t feel good. We’re in that survival consciousness of, oh God, you know, what do I have to do to prevent my, and protect myself? So the minute you ask yourself, what do I want? You open up your creator consciousness.

[00:20:41] You open up that energy to flow through you. You start to align, you start to blend, you know, with the creator that’s breathing you. So what do I want? Why do I want it? When you start to think about why the reasons you want this meeting to go successful, or you want this client to come on board, or you want to start this new pro program or project or whatever it may be, why is it that you want that?

[00:21:06] You know, I want this because I’ll be more successful. I want this because I’ll make more impact. I want this because Right. What’s the reason you want this new client? Contract, whatever it may be. And then the third question is, how will I feel? ’cause most of the time we are so ingrained in thinking that.

[00:21:26] If I go make the money, then I’ll feel, if I make more money, then I’ll feel, if I find a partner, if I have someone in my business to help me, then I’ll feel, but the truth is, is that we need to come from the feeling. We need to vibrate from that already, because that’s the fulfillment we’re looking for.

[00:21:46] And if we’re not in fulfillment, we’re in laps. Lag is never feels good, right? So when we are in the place of saying, okay, what do I want and how do I want this day to go and how do I wanna feel? And then you allow yourself, like the piano player to feel that, to feel that level of success, to feel that level of prosperity, to feel that level of support, whatever it is, that’s how you start your day.

[00:22:13] And then. Know that this is all about managing and mastering your own energy. So just like throughout the day, you know, we don’t drink a sip of water just once, right? We drink throughout the day, right? We don’t just wake up in the morning, go to the bathroom. Once we do it throughout the day, we don’t just eat once.

[00:22:33] We do it throughout the day, right? It’s something that is part of our management. Of our entire experience, but it’s the most essential one because energy creates everything. So if you find that you know you’re doing well and all of a sudden your energy starts to dip at like 10 o’clock, or you had the meeting right, or something happens, it’s a different kind of segment of your day.

[00:22:56] That’s the time to just pause briefly and refocus again. What did I want? Did I get it? Yeah. Celebrate that. You know, lock in that, that celebratory success energy. You might put your hand on your heart, you might give yourself a hug. You know, you might do something that you feel the sense of, yes, I did it right.

[00:23:16] You might do like the McCulley Culkin home alone. Yes. You know, kind of pull your hand down, but doing something to. Acknowledge that you set an intention to create a, a vibration, you know, within the same meeting, and then the meeting was over. It went well. Don’t just be like, okay, next. You know, acknowledge it.

[00:23:36] Sit in it, soak in it, allow that energy to, to. Feel you and, and inform you, because then that will be the leapfrog for then the next segment of your day. And if you’re not in that space, right, if you didn’t have a great meeting or you know something knocked you off before the meeting, every moment is an opportunity to reset yourself.

[00:23:58] And so to come back into that space of neutrality, I need to kind of talk about this for a second, but coming back into a space of neutrality that will help you readjust and then. Choose the energy that you want. So real quick, there are three states of being that we can choose to live in, right? One of them is lack.

[00:24:16] I like to think of it as like three buckets. The first one is lack, and that’s where all of the lower level emotions come from. All the way from sadness, powerlessness to boredom, and everything in between. Disappointment, you know, um, disgust, uh, free, um. Anger, you know, all of those fear, doubt, worry. All of those come from the space of survival mode.

[00:24:40] And that’s being in lag limitation. Right. And it doesn’t feel good, you know, you’re in limitation, in lag because you don’t feel good. The second bucket, and it’s just beyond vibrationally, it’s like, again, the, the spectrum of keys on the piano, right? Just beyond that boredom is that note of I’m okay. Uh, everything’s all right.

[00:25:03] I’m okay. Right? You don’t feel bad. You don’t feel super excited over the moon, but you’re like, it’s okay. It’s gonna be all right. I’m all right. There’s a place of neutrality. There’s a place of coming back to, it’s okay, I can breathe, I’m safe. It’s gonna turn out, it’s gonna be fine. You know, you’re no longer in the lab.

[00:25:24] And then the third bucket is abundance. So the neutrality bucket. Is where peace, harmony, you know, those, those emotions, those tones, those notes, those vibrations that don’t feel like freedom and love and excitement and joy, because all of those are in that spectrum of abundance and our natural state is abundance.

[00:25:48] So we are the factor. Are we focusing our words? Thoughts, you know, um. Perspective emotions and the actions that we take. Are we, in lack? Are we in neutrality or are we in abundance? Because that will make a huge difference in what we then create. Mm-hmm. So when, but, um, what I te so it’s very similar to some, what you’re saying is very similar.

[00:26:15] What, what I teach in my signature program, uh, called Soul Blueprint and, um. I, I like how you, um, are inviting in the start of the day with what do I want and why do I want it. When I first started asking that question, like, why do I want it, I noticed and my higher self actually called me to don’t, just in set the intention, even from the heart, like, because I always make sure that my intentions are higher, self led, heart led, uh, when I go through my morning practice, which very sounds similar to what you’re describing, and then my hair self said, all right, now we need to start asking why.

[00:26:55] And when I started asking why, even though it was a heart led intention. I found myself improving energy. Mm-hmm. Well, ’cause I wanna prove it to my husband. I can do it. Well, I wanna prove even proving it to myself, but not in like a cheerleader. Like you can do it way, but more in like a kind of heavy, low vibey way.

[00:27:11] Like you were talking kind of a lacky way, like mm-hmm. Or a struggle way. Like I gotta prove it to myself. And so for me, when I get what, so that right there is kind of a, um, what I would call awareness. There is something low vibrational present. Yes. And so what do you, so what I teach when there’s some, when we notice we’re, we’re not in the high vibe, we’re in the low vibe and there’s something present.

[00:27:38] I look at that as like, there’s an energy block here ready to be released. It’s similar to what you’re saying. I like the way I teach energy healing. I don’t know about this thing on the back of the head, but I find it very, uh. I like it and I wanna explore into it and learn more about it. Um, do you talk about it in one of your books?

[00:27:58] Um, I, I, I talk about it in the flow factor. There’s 16 different practical processes to, you know, mastering your energies. Four of them are mental, four of them are emotional, four of them are physical, and four of ’em are spiritual. So there’s 16 different processes to, you know, step by step. And the mental is always really good to release that in the back of the head and neck.

[00:28:19] It’s like the second step if you’re, yeah. If you were gonna go release the emotions, why I would have you bring your focus and attention down into your belly. So if you’re releasing the first it, it’s kind of like the first stop, right? It’s like you release this primitive grip, gripping, you know, on you.

[00:28:38] It releases and you feel like this sense of like expansion and then you can bring in, you know, higher vision. You can connect with different centers, right? Yeah. But then to release the energy and the motion I have would have you go down into your belly. Belly, yeah. Because that’s your emotional body.

[00:28:56] Right? And then feel the pulsation of that. But those two centers, because both mental and emotional. They work hand in hand, right? They’re, they’re just, they’re so connected and it’s like a tipping point. I talk about in the flow factor, the four bodies that we have, right? It’s the mental body, which affects the emotional body, which affects the physical body, and which affects the energy body.

[00:29:17] It affects the energy that we give out. And so when you start to work with like it, it’s like, which way are you gonna go? Right? Is this a mental, um, thing that you’re got going on? Is it a say a mental block? Is it just a thought you’re thinking and it just, you just need to change a thought, you know?

[00:29:34] Maybe it’s not a huge. Block. It’s just maybe something that you thought of something and had a negative perspective on it and ran with it, right? And so you just need to change that perspective. Um, it might be that you do have some kind of an, a lower level emotional energy that’s from the past that you need to release some let go of, right?

[00:29:53] Um, anything with the physical body is definitely mental and emotional. That’s just contained itself. And then energy, I mean, there’s so many different ways. The energy body. I mean, we have our soul body, which is always pure positive. But we also have not just our, our pure positive soul body, it, there’s energy that’s coming off of the mental body, of the emotional body, you know, so.

[00:30:17] When you clearing the mental body and the emotional body and the physical body, naturally it’s like a tipping point. You know, your energy starts to shift, but you could also start it from the energy. You could start bringing in light and working with clearing your energy body all around you, which then has an effect on your mental, emotional, physical body.

[00:30:37] Yeah. Yeah. That’s interesting. Um. I have, I don’t know if you are someone who tracks human design, but in my human design type, I have a defined head center and a defined ana center, which means like I’m naturally a thinker. Um, like, you know, I’m a person who in my light, I’m like thinking great thoughts and like, Hey, let’s brainstorm this amazing idea and really get some juicy ideas going.

[00:31:01] But in my shadow. I’m a, I’m a head case and it’s funny because I am such an intuitive, I’m a psychic medium. I’m a channel, and so I am often embodied in the heart and channeling and not actually in my head. Um, but it is a pu push pull in my energy at the same time. Like how to balance all this. It’s like in human time, they call it the natural conundrum that’s built in your chart, you know, like balancing all this.

[00:31:28] So I find for me, because I know a lot about the energy and the other things like, but that mental piece, but I know this is just me personally and I know my listeners are interested in all four baskets. Um, I find that so interesting how to. Release that. So yeah, so why don’t we walk us through again.

[00:31:50] Okay. So we got the four baskets and all of us probably have the different lever that we need in our own lives to push and you’ll have to, you know what I mean when I, I’m specifically talking about those times when we’re stuck. Right? Mm-hmm. We’re out of flow. Mm-hmm. And let’s talk about like, let’s, because my listeners are kind of advanced with this stuff.

[00:32:09] Let’s talk about like, when we don’t know why we’re out of flow. Like, Hey, I have clients, I have health, I’ve got a great partner. Like, life should be great. Why do you feel like crap? Right? So, um, walk us through like what you would recommend to me if I came to you and said, Christy, like, everything’s going so well in my life, but I feel.

[00:32:29] I feel like I’m not I yet, yet I feel like I’m not in flow. Yeah. So I would first say that, you know, when you’re not in flow, again, you’re in that first bucket of lax. So we need to get you into neutrality. Right? And so a lot of times when we start looking, well, why am I not in flow and why am I out of flow?

[00:32:47] And you know, what’s the problem? You know, we, we start going into the contrast, which is what we don’t want. So a con a thought. I’m not happy or you know, just a feeling of I’m just not satisfied. That can be contrast. So, so could someone saying something rude to you or you know, something that you don’t want manifest, you know, so contrast comes in lots of different choices and options, but it’s always going to be part of the human experience.

[00:33:16] So, but when you understand that. When you’re catching yourself not feeling good for whatever reason, it doesn’t matter what it is. That’s what we need to get into neutrality. And so the first thing I would say is open up the back of the head and neck. So again, it’s just that place where it, right where your head and your neck, your spine come together.

[00:33:36] If you were to put your finger there and put your head back, you squish your finger. It’s like right in that spot. And if you just imagine that energy. Is starting to release outta that. Whatever you’re worried about, whatever you’re thinking about, just think about like from the left side to the middle, to the right side.

[00:33:54] This all represents that fight flight freeze, and you just let this release out and, and release out the back of the head and neck and just having that energy releasing out, it’s a huge, just, it feels like a, just a huge healing. It just feels like it. Just a huge shift. And then what you wanna do is bring light.

[00:34:15] Down through the top of your head. So again, focusing back on the fact that you have your soul with you, you have this pure positive energy. Let your soul fill you up, fill up your mind, even, you know, move into the the front part of your mind. Focusing on what you would love and, and what would feel good, but bringing that light in.

[00:34:40] And then the second thing I would have you do after bringing in the light is give yourself a hug. Just wrap your arms around you. And give yourself a big hug. Because what this does is it helps to continue to release that, um, vagus nerve, the limbic system, the nervous system, the whole system of fight, flight, freeze.

[00:35:02] When you’re hugging yourself, you’re getting that yourself, that somatic touch. It brings all of that into a just a release, and so that you could come into neutrality. And then from there, that’s when you tell yourself you’re okay. It’s, you’re very blessed. You got, you got it all. It’s okay to have it all, you know, whatever that is, to soothe yourself in that moment.

[00:35:27] So it’s energy, physical touch, and then words of affirmation that bring you back. ’cause now you’re neutral. Now you’re neutral and, and you’re not over the moon that maybe your situation didn’t change. But your state and your body is different, and now as you start to then. Get clear on what is it that I want and why do I want it, and how do I wanna feel?

[00:35:53] And really what’s the deeper need here? You know? Am I wanting to feel like I’m making a difference, like I’m purposeful? Then that’s where you can meditate on, that’s what you can connect with. That feeling of being purposeful. You know, that feeling of being free, safe, loved, supported, healthy, what, whatever it is, right?

[00:36:12] That’s where we then start to engage our mind and our imagination in what we wanna create. Not only now, but also in the future. Yeah, that was cool. I was doing that along with you and that, um, sorry, I’m like seized on the back of the neck thing, Christine. ’cause I think a lot of us, like we get up in our head and then that’s when you are totally, just as you said, I always say like.

[00:36:39] Our intuition, all of our spiritual gifts and our flow, it like kind of lives from the neck down. It’s not to say we, we don’t get activated in our third iron or crowd eye chakra, not that. But if we’re not embodied, right, if we’re uh, in that sort of neck up energy spinning. Everything gets shut off and so Well, that’s just it.

[00:36:57] It it, sorry to interrupt you. It’s just like something can happen. You can have an emotion or you notice something when contrast happens of any kind. It is our natural, normal instinct to go into this like freeze mode. Or to go into fight mode or to go into like, I’m outta here mode. Right? And that even means I’m out of here.

[00:37:19] I don’t wanna be with myself. So I’m gonna go shop, gamble, have some wine, smoke ajo, go, you know, veg out in front of Netflix for 10 hours. You know, like what could be being on my phone and you know. Uh, scrolling on my phone. There’s so many things that take us out of our state to, and that’s like the, I’m leaving myself, I’m fleeing, I’m getting outta here, or we’re like frozen, like a deer in headlights, or we’re just like, I don’t know what to do.

[00:37:52] Like, I’m, I, I’m stuck. Like, I feel something is blocking me and I don’t know what it is and I don’t know how to get over it. Right? Or that, oh yeah, you talked to me that way. I’ll talk to you back. Or that you, you know, like even just pushing against the universe is like, I guess everybody else gets what they want except for me, right?

[00:38:12] That like, that, you know, that pushing against that resistance. The minute you open up the back of the head and neck, it gives that energy an escape route so that you’re not all up in there. And it gives yourself another choice, which is flow. Because when you’re in that survival mode, there is no flow, right?

[00:38:34] And so to choose flow even feels daunting. And that’s why we gotta bring in that neutrality because that neutrality, that even that bringing in the light, hugging yourself saying words of affirmation, now you’re coming into alignment with po pure positive energy with your soul. You know? Now that’s where, that’s where that moment of flow starts to, starts to move through.

[00:38:58] Mm-hmm. But if it’s stuck back here, I mean, we can’t function from the front, from our higher spiritual centers, you know, we can’t even feel ourselves. Correct, because we’re just, yeah. There, you know, I also like the hugging yourself. Um, it makes me think of my 9-year-old daughter who is diagnosed with A DHD, and she has the type of a DHD where she gets overstimulated.

[00:39:21] She doesn’t have the filters up that neurotypical people have. I, I don’t know the best way to say it, but she can get very easily overstimulated and of course when she’s overstimulated that whole fight, flight, freeze us like. Activated on high and she is not a kid in most neurodivergent kids and people.

[00:39:43] Aren’t wanting to go in and talk about it and tell me exactly how you feel and let’s talk through this. Right? But the thing that always calms her down immediately is a hug. But when she’s in fight, flight, or freeze, she doesn’t always want a hug. ’cause she’ll be like, get away from me. I’m like too stressed for a hug.

[00:40:01] So what I do is. Put pressure right on the heart space. And because it calms her almost immediately, she’ll allow me to do it even when she’s really pissed off. So I just like put the pressure, you know, right on her chest, pressed down, and then all of a sudden I can just feel, I can feel her coming down.

[00:40:20] And so I never thought about hugging myself. I know to do it to her, but love the idea of doing it to myself. Yes, that’s really. A very cool practice. Yeah, I mean, you know, it’s one of those things ’cause you could be at the grocery store, you could be at the office, you could be anywhere. And it’s like, it’s not like, oh, I can’t hug myself.

[00:40:42] I left my hands or my arms at home. You know, you’ve always got your arms with you anywhere you go. I mean, someone could cut you off in traffic and flip you off and it’s like that didn’t feel good. Hug yourself. You know, you could be standing at a really long line at the grocery store. You could literally just rub your arms around yourself.

[00:40:58] I did that. Uh, it shifted my energy. Standing in line at a Starbucks one day, and I heard myself, I, I had made a mistake on my schedule for a interview and I thought I missed out on the opportunity because I had been traveling. And it was like I got the time wrong ’cause the time zone. And so I missed it.

[00:41:16] And I was standing at Starbucks about to get a T and I heard myself say, how could you be so stupid? And I was like, wait a minute. No. I am not stupid. I made a mistake and that’s okay. And I literally wrapped my arms around myself in that moment at in line, at the Starbucks and I, and I felt my soul with me and I hugged myself and I said, it’s okay.

[00:41:38] I’m smart, right? I am smart. I made a mistake. I’m also human. Right. And so I could just feel the stress, the worry, you know, dissolve as I’m standing there in line, because the somatic touch, which you’re talking about with your daughter, by putting her ha your hand on her heart, that is really, it’s so settling and it’s so important for us as human beings.

[00:42:01] Like Mo, some people are like, don’t touch me. I don’t like to be touched. Right? And if you don’t like to be touched by other people, touch yourself, because then that gives you that same level of comfort and soothing. That all of us want and need. Yeah. I love your Starbucks example because I think some of my clients kind of have this idea that if we’re engaging in these spiritual practices and we’re doing the healing and we’re doing all the things that we should start manifesting kind of a conflict free or free life.

[00:42:31] I always say, I always say spiritual growth is not about having a challenging free life. It’s about how do you respond? To life’s challenges. And I feel like your example is so brilliant, like, thank you, you know, missing out on a big opportunity, like I, I’m someone who, like that kind of stuff really triggers me.

[00:42:48] I, I don’t know, like I think I’ve got some past lifetime wounding around not showing up for appointments or something. Um, so I love that you were just like, oh no, no, you’re like, no thinking mind or ego mind or whatever. I am not stupid. Like right? You had such a wonderful response. You didn’t react, you really responded, and so that you could return to your flow.

[00:43:12] Well, the more you do this, the more that you start practicing this and realize that we have this primitive part of the brain and anytime something that we don’t want, we feel stressed, something happens that we don’t want, that’s our natural normal reaction. Right. And it’s okay because the idea, I used to be like that too.

[00:43:33] I know. Law of attraction. So that means my life will forever now be perfect. And I remember the first time, and this is probably 30 years ago, I remember the first time I was supposed to get on a plane and the flight was delayed. And I was like, I know law of attraction. Hello. I’m practicing spiritual principles here.

[00:43:52] Like why is my flight delayed? Right? It’s like a contrast happens and there’s varieties of contrast that happens. So it’s not about. Most of us are trying to get rid of all the contrast and trying to avoid having any type of contrast, but we’re wasting our life force energy for doing that, except that there’s contrast.

[00:44:11] A flight gets delayed, you know, you miss an appointment. The line is long. Someone said something rude. And then, right. It’s like, and then how do you get into flow? Even though this universe, this polar third dimension reality that we live in has some stuff you don’t want. You know, it’s like that’s where you navigate and the other option, the other choices flow.

[00:44:38] It’s like fight, flight, freeze, fawn, and flow. That’s, that’s an option. You know, this keeps coming up, so I’m just gonna share this. I have a dog. He’s, uh, amazing. I love him. He is a Labradoodle. And whenever I have like a cas, this Casita is my office. And so it’s separated from my house. And so whenever, you know, I’m about to go in and do some healing work, my dog will look at me like, can I come?

[00:45:03] And. If I’m doing an interview, I don’t let him come in because he might bark at the UPS guy or something like that. But if I’m doing a class, he’s usually pretty chill and, and he’ll stay with me. And so what I’ll say the command to him is stay on the path. And he knows that command. He knows what that means.

[00:45:18] It means go right to the door of the casita. Right? So this is a couple months ago. I, I go stand the path and he is looking at me like. Okay. I open up the door and there’s a bunny rabbit right there. The bunny goes running for its life. My dog goes running after the bunny to try to chase the bunny, and it runs across the street and down the street.

[00:45:40] And I am like, Jack, right? And finally he stopped. And then he came back and I thought about it. I’m like, jacks couldn’t help himself. It was a natural, normal saw bunny run. The bunny couldn’t help herself. She saw me open the door, and whether there was a big dog or anything that Bunny was running anyway, right?

[00:46:04] It’s a natural response for these animals. Well, we are part animal. We’ve got that primitive part, so understand how to work with it. Instead of trying to fight against it or trying to, uh, uh, it’s almost like, be perfect or go above it or try to, you know, it’s like, oh, I’m not of this world. Right. I don’t have, I, I can not have any type of contrast.

[00:46:27] It’s like, no. We’ll, you know. Yeah. Love that you have a car. Yeah. If you have a car, sometimes you might have to change the tire. Right. Or if you have a car, you have to either hook it in and charge it up or go get gas for it. I mean, yeah, right. It is like these are things that happen and when we can understand how to navigate it instead of trying to make a different, you know, that that’s one of things like shifted for me and my spiritual path like years ago, is that this idea of just stay in the now.

[00:47:04] Power of the now is powerful. Love Ecker. Tolle’s work, right? Power of the now is incredible. And it’s true in the presence of what problem do you have? And you know, all of that is so true. However, our human brains don’t work like that. Our human brains are designed to project out into the future, come back into the present moment, go back into the past, come back into the present moment.

[00:47:30] Think about it if it’s just even the subject of a meal. Am I hungry right now? I’m a little hungry. What did, did I already eat? That’s the past, right? Did I eat? I didn’t eat. No wonder I’m hungry. I didn’t eat breakfast. And then it’s like, well, when am I having lunch? Am I? Is it, am I meeting someone for lunch today?

[00:47:49] Am I gonna need to eat a big breakfast or a little breakfast based on the fact that I’m gonna go have lunch? Right? Like my brain just in the subject of I’m hungry and I’m going to eat has already referred back into the future. And back into the past. Because it naturally cycles like that all the time.

[00:48:06] So to stay in the present moment and just be in the now Well, when we’re in the now, when we’re present, oh, dang. It feels so good. Right, but that brain of ours, and you can’t change it, but you can work with it. Oh, it’s navigating the future. So now I’m gonna make sure that I am creatively and with intention, projecting a future that I want to create.

[00:48:32] And if I get snagged on something in the past, that’s just energy. I can clean that up. I can clean up my past by anything that’s pulling me down, that’s knocking me off. That’s, you know, got my, my power. I can clean that up because ultimately. To be in the now moment and to think about the past and have it be a giggle or have it be something that fuels you in your now and to think about the future that you’re excited about that brings you in the now you’re in the now more presently because you feel good in the now.

[00:49:11] If you go to the past and you think of something that pissed you off or didn’t feel good or broke your heart, you are gonna feel bad in the now. If you are projecting into a future that’s scary, that is, uh, you’re stressed about, that’s full of lack, you’re gonna feel bad in the now. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So. It’s like the, the three aspects of time.

[00:49:39] There’s now, there’s the past and there’s the future. I had a long argument, a discussion with my son Maxim yesterday about there is no time only, only now exists. And you know, and I, and I’m like, I agree. And yet all time is simultaneous. So the past if for present and the future are all happening right now.

[00:49:58] You know, and we are getting into this discussion. He is like, but you can’t, you can’t have a past. And I go, max, do you remember when we went on this trip? Dah, dah, dah, dah, dah. And he goes, yeah. I go, that’s in your past. It’s like, that exists. You remember it? Are you living that right now? Are we on that cruise ship right now?

[00:50:18] No. But you remember it and because you remember it and all the other things that you remember, for most of us, it wasn’t pleasant. Things that we remembered, that’s still informing us in our now. Mm-hmm. That’s the cool thing is that it, that part back then, whether I was, I was two 10 or 12, you know, or 15 or 35, those parts, those exist, but they’re holding energy, right?

[00:50:47] Are they holding good energy? Are they holding bad ne negative energy? Are they, are they stuck in lack? Are they in neutrality or are they in abundance? And you can always, even from this now moment. Those parts that are in the past that are stuck, that are in that survival mode that didn’t get to release the back of the head and neck and come back into flow, you can bring them back into flow even if it’s in the past and you could bring yourself into flow even in the future.

[00:51:17] It’s, it’s fascinating. It is, it is. I really appreciate the way you broke this down and it feels so accessible for all people no matter what stress levels are or whatever’s happening in someone’s life. So I really appreciate how you we’re so generous with your wisdom today, and I know a lot of our listeners are gonna wanna get their hands on the flow factor and your other six books and learn more about you.
