[00:01:16] Well, hello there she grows nation, that is the name of this community of soul guided women entrepreneurs. I’m devoting episodes 1, 2 and 3 to exploring the amazing world of [00:01:30] soul guided business growth, which is what this podcast is all about. Soul guided growth puts your heart in the driver’s seat to your business, and it has three primary components. The first is core gift, discovery and infusion. Then we go to soul guided planning. And lastly, and it is what we’ll be talking about today, is aligned an inspired strategy. Marketing, content and sales [00:02:00] are primary components of a good business strategy. Most of my clients cringe when they hear these words, and I totally understand because I used to cringe, too. All I wanted to do when I first started my business was create from the heart and help the people. I felt called to serve. And for me, the marketing and sales were the worst part of my day. It [00:02:30] always felt like a ton of effort that never paid off. And let’s face it, it just wasn’t fun. Then I did three things that changed everything. First, I set the intention to change my relationship to sales and marketing to one that served me. Second. What this podcast is all about. I put my soul in the driver’s [00:03:00] seat of my business strategy. And lastly, I started with intention infusing my core gifts into everything I did.
[00:03:09] Let’s unpack this, starting with your relationship to sales and marketing. Soul guided entrepreneurs by definition are not motivated by learning new sales and marketing techniques or even by making money. We get visions of used car salesmen or the ubiquitous ads we see on social media that promise [00:03:30] us the world in exchange for our email address. We get so bombarded with cells offers all day long, we’ve become cynical and don’t want our offerings to have that same salesy feel. But what if you shifted the way you saw it and the way you showed up? I know you believe with your whole heart and the product or service you sell. And if you’re not selling anything. I [00:04:00] know that you have something amazing inside of you that wants to get out to make a true impact on the world. So what if you shifted your view of marketing to that of connecting? All you’re doing is looking for ways to connect to your ideal audience. You’re doing things to make it easier for your ideal people to find you. As part of your marketing, [00:04:30] you’re creating content that allows you to share your authentic voice. Mm, sounds nice. So let’s keep going with that. What if you shifted your view of sales to that of being in service to your ideal clients or customers? So instead of saying, how can I make a sale? You say, how can I be in service [00:05:00] to my ideal people. How can I transform her life? And this is exactly how you show up.
You show up to connect, to share your authentic voice and to be of service. How would that look like for your business? How would you do things differently than you’re doing right now? So for me, [00:05:30] it’s this podcast. This podcast is the heart of my marketing and content plan that I use to connect to you and share my authentic voice. How did it arrive to me? Well, this gets us to my next point. I put my soul in the driver’s seat of my business strategy. I started getting visions, clear visions of me podcasting, [00:06:00] and every time I checked in with the voice of my heart, I received the message launch and grow a podcast. And so I did. And it was a real come full circle moment. I was a broadcast journalism major back in the day. I thought I wanted to go into reporting and newscasting. And it was a real first love for me getting on a mic or playing [00:06:30] around with sound. And so it was a real labor of love. When I launched my podcast, because I didn’t have any help and I had to learn how to do it all from scratch with a lot of help from YouTube.
[00:06:44] And I launched something that I’m really, really proud of and something that I was able to really grow. And as the months passed and I kept checking in with my heart, I kept getting the vision and the message. Grow your [00:07:00] podcast. Focus on your podcast. Then it transformed into invest in your podcast. And so I did. And so here I am with my new rebooted podcast and everything is up leveled and a little bit more professional. And I am super excited to be here connecting to you in this way. And it was all by dint [00:07:30] of putting my soul in the driver’s seat of how I share my voice. And beyond listening to my soul, I noticed what was working. How were people finding me? What was I saying that encouraged them to hire me? And it boiled down to three things. My podcast, my live events and my Facebook engagement. So I made those three things [00:08:00] the heart of my marketing, content, and sales strategy. I put all of my eggs in those three baskets. This way I could show up fully and I wasn’t spreading myself too thin. And I wasn’t having to constantly learn new marketing and sales approaches because I kept doing the same things over and over, which helped me to get better and better.
[00:08:27] These are three approaches I love [00:08:30] and what I didn’t love, I learned to love. Let me tell you what I mean by that. I have a love hate relationship to Facebook, so I figured out how to focus on the things I enjoy about it, which is connecting to amazing people both near and far. And I work hard to ditch or not focus on the things I don’t like about Facebook. So with every client who hires me, I always [00:09:00] ask, how did you find me? And if it isn’t a referral, then I guarantee you it will be either from my podcast, Facebook or live event. The only other wild card I’ll throw in there is meetup.com, which is something I use for my live events. But from time to time people stumble across it and hire me without attending a live event. It’s a nice little bonus. So the point here is to listen to your heart, how it’s guiding you to [00:09:30] connect and be in service and notice as you’re going what’s working. Pay attention. And when you start to bring those things all together. The marketing and the sales or the connecting and being of service is going to feel a whole lot more easeful and you’re going to get a whole lot more results with less effort. The last part of a line and inspired strategy I want to mention today is infusing your core gifts in your [00:10:00] marketing content and sales.
[00:10:02] Let me share a common mistake. I hear my clients come to me and think they have to start a podcast or a YouTube channel because that’s what their peers are doing. But it’s nothing they’re truly feeling called to do. Then I ask them, so what medium is calling your name to enable you to share your authentic voice in that calling your core? Gifts are talking to you, [00:10:30] telling you how they want to express themselves. Being an expression of your core gifts is a state of being. It’s how you show up. So finding the right medium, whether it be the written, the spoken, the one on one combo, the classroom, the video, the poem, the movement, the song, whatever it is, will enable you to embody your core gifts. And when you’re [00:11:00] embodying your core gifts as part of your content and marketing approach, you will turn into a magnet for your ideal audience. They won’t even have to consume your content because they feel so pulled to your energy. And when you’re sharing your core gifts, you often travel to the edge of creativity. Maybe you’re saying something different or new or offering a new approach. And [00:11:30] the people who are not ready to hear this will not connect and they will be repelled away.
[00:11:37] Guess what? That’s exactly what you want to happen. You’re not being rude. You’re just showing up as your authentic self, attracting in the right people and attracting out the wrong. How cool is that? And when you infuse your core guests into your products and services, they truly [00:12:00] start to sell themselves. So ask the question, what is a product or service? I can offer my ideal people that will transform their lives and enable me to show up as the very best version of myself. One of my core gifts is to help people see a bigger, more expanded version of their life and take inspired action towards making that vision a reality. [00:12:30] I infuse this gift into all of my offerings and I even created an entire soul guided planning course around it. This enables me to continually show up as my best self and create maximum transformation in the lives of my ideal clients. My challenge for you this week is to shift your relationship to sales and marketing and ask [00:13:00] your heart how you want to connect, share your voice and be in service to your ideal clients or customers. Set the intention. Right this moment to infuse your core gifts into all aspects of your business. See what nudges and callings you receive [00:13:30] and act on those nudges and always be open to where you’re solely to you.
