All day every day bits of communications, sound bites, and media consume us, whether it be from our smart phone, Twitter, or television ads. And this information overload is having a negative effect on our ability to dream and create.

To learn how to overcome “digital dementia” by better managing our daily media regime and kicking our right brain back into gear, I speak to award-winning composer, producer, and public speaker, Gary Malkin.

Gary’s list of accomplishments are long and include winning several Emmy awards, co-creating the internationally acclaimed CD, Graceful Passages, and creating the spoken words and music montage for the short film, Gratitude, currently the most popular TEDx talk in history.

    So much inspiration here I don’t even know where to start. This message of mindfulness of what we “consume” audio-visually, of what we feed our minds, is so key. Despite how much powerful transformative wisdom I’ve experienced personally in just that way, this serves as a badly needed reminder of how important it is to consistently weave it into the fabric of your life. When I find myself habitually doing what Gary is talking about, I find I am more a peace and more centered and more whole. When I do the opposite, I find myself ruminating and angry and distracted.
